Dinner with friends!

It was great to have a night out with friends. The last time we made the time to get together, Ella was not quiet 5 months old! It was long overdue! We had a great time!

Speed Walking

MeeMaw gave Ella this walker for Christmas. Up until now, she could only use it on the carpet because it would fly out from under her. Now she can practically jog behind it in the kitchen. Heaven forbid if something gets in her way, like the poor dog. Ella is not walking on her own yet, but we think it could be any day. She can stand alone as long as she wants.

Tonight we let Ella run around the house naked for a little while. You would think she received the greatest gift in the world! She cackled as she crawled around. She couldn't decide where to go first! Shortly after, she had her bath and then off to Daddy's salon for pampering! The ride to and from the salon is half the fun!

Daycare was Closed, Nonnie's house is open for buisness!

We had just picked Ella up from Nonnie's house. She was in a great mood! She played on the kitchen floor in her new house shoes until bedtime!

Post Valentines Day Blues

This was the day after we visited Nashville for Ella's Cousin Cooper's 3rd Birthday. It was the longest trip she has ever taken and it definately took its toll on her. She was exhausted. At one point I caught her in the living room in the middle of the floor, sprawled out on her belly trying to watch T.V. Poor baby she was pooped! We had a lot of fun in Nashville though, and we hope that Cooper had a great Birthday!

Tannehill State Park

The temperture today was supposed to hit 70! So, after church, we loaded up and went to Tannehill to ride in the wagon, do a little hiking and play on the playground! A good time was had by all! However, we did miss a nap, and napping in the backpack just isn't the same as a nap at home. So we were a little grumpy by the time we got home. Later that night we met up with my family to celebrate my 30th birthday! I can't believe I'm not in my twenties anymore!

1st Wagon Ride

Today, Ella asked her daddy if she could go for a wagon ride since it was so pretty outside. She even offered to help him put it together.

What do you cook for someone with two teeth? Tonight, it was sweet potato fries, baked chicken, and a mashed banana. She did pretty good. She even used her fork a couple of times, until she poked herself in the lip. She didn't eat very much, but she liked everything. Ella likes to sit in the kitchen when we are in there. But, if she doesn't have anything to do, like a book to look at, then she will definately be in the cabinets and drawers!

Ella still home "sick"

Ella really doesn't act like she's sick, you wouldn't even know she had a 102 degree fever if you didn't touch her. None the less, Jason and I have taken shifts staying home with her, he takes the morning and I take the afternoon. She really enjoys playing in the bathroom cabinets. I closed the doors with her inside once and she just sat there quietly until I opened it. Being with her during the day has provided a great opportunity to introduce her to the potty. We don't actually expect her to do anything, but we want her to become comfortable with the potty now, so it doesn't scare her in a few months when daycare starts encouraging it. I'm sure Ella won't appreciate these pics in a few years but right now, I think they are darling.

Every time I turn around Ella has one sock missing. Even in the last post, she only had one sock on.

Fun at home!

Ella has been sick this week, which seems like the theme of January, so there hasn't been much posting. The Dr. says its viral and as long as she has a fever she can't go to school but she can't have any medicine either, other than Tylenol. Anyway, it hasn't slowed Ella one bit. She loves crawling in and out of her car seat and now she can climb all the way to the top of the steps. I see baby gates in our future.

New Years Day - Christmas at my Dad's

We had cancelled our Christmas together, due to everyone being sick. So, on New Year's day, everyone declared that they were well enought to get together. This was the last day that Ella was well for 2 WEEKS!

Ella's first Santa Claus!

We were so excited to wake up so Ella could see what Santa Claus brought her. She went straight to her busy gears. It took her a while explore her "Laugh and Learn Living Room," but once she started playing around in it, she got really excited. We had a great Christmas, but I can't wait for the excitement on her face in the years to come. Jason and I hadn't really gotten each other anything for a couple of years so we went all out this Christmas. Once everthing settled down, Ella waved at me and said something resembling "bye-bye." That was probably the best gift of all.
