More Easter Pics

My Mother did a beautiful job making Ella's Easter Dress. I just love it! Since we were having to use a remote to take the pictures that we are all in, we tied the balloons from the party onto the tripod. The wind was blowing and the balloons made it into some of the pictures. Ella loves it outside and I love the "little stinker" expression she has in the last picture.

Ella's 1st Easter

OH MY GOODNESS! HOW DID THAT GET IN HERE!! I know you can't read, but look, it has your name beautifully painted on the side!

There were a lot of firsts going on this weekend. This is a picture of us last Easter. Notice the slight difference. The Poor Puppy has been removed from all future family photos.

This is a picture of us two years ago. It's strangely similar, to this year.....hmmm.

Ella's 1st Birthday Party

This was the closest we could get to a family photo. There was a lot going on.

I'm soooo glad Leslie was there to tell me to strip Ella down to her diaper before the cake. I probably would have thought it would be too much trouble, but it helped me to relax and let her enjoy her cake. Also, if Leslie hadn't told me to put her hand in the cake, I wouldn't have thought to. Ella and I might have just stared at each other for the next hour. In the end she left the cake in pretty decent condition for the rest of us to enjoy. She's a pretty reserved baby.

This is one of the few smiles of the day. I think everything was a bit overwhelming. Thank you Stephanie for taking pictures for me. We will cherish them forever!
I think the kids had the most fun outside. It was a little cool for those of us not running around. Jason and Jessie, Ethan's dad, hid eggs for Ethan and Cooper and they had a great time hunting them! The girls enjoyed the swing! Presley, Leslie's little girl, had to leave before presents and my brother's kids were unable to be there because they were not feeling good. We missed you guys! Here is a picture of the little group. L to R: Ella, Emma, Cooper, Ethan

There were so many pictures of our day! I think we took nearly 700 - that day alone. Here are a few more:

Happy Birthday to Pop & Poppy (Jason's Dad and Grandad)! We were so glad that you joined us on your birthday, we certainly didn't forget about you! A big thanks to my mom, for helping me with the cake, Poppy, for cooking the burgers & dogs, Cici, for helping us with the yard and cleaning up afterwards. We appreciate you more than you could know!

The Cake gets its own post.

My Mother and I spent about 6 hours Friday creating the Baby Einstein Caterpillar for Ella's cake. I think it turned out adorable! My only regret was that the body segments weren't closer together. But hey, for my first cake, there is really nothing to complain about. It tasted delicious too! The second Caterpillar head was Ella's smash cake. Thank you Lord Jesus, for keeping the ants away since we we unable to refrigerate the cake....it was too big! It took every glass in the house to create the tent to cover it!

Happy Birthday Baby!!!

Today is Ella's Birthday!! Yea!! I can't believe how fast this year has flown by! My little baby is growing up! I brought cookies today so that Ella's Class could celebrate her birthday with her! I even let her have the icing. She did great! She wasn't even ill when I picked her up, in fact, she was in a great mood! Soooo...We decided to go to Olive Garden and tempt fate with a sugar laden baby. She was an angel! Not a peep! She colored on her menu (1st time to color), and ate a TON! That little booger loves black olives! Who would have guessed? (Click on the pictures for a closer look)

It looks like her class had a great time too!

Is it wrong to say that your child sometimes resembles a Lhasa Apso?

Cutie! There's those EYES!

Peaches for me! Look Out!

Ella fed herself dinner tonight, with a spoon even. It may not look it, but she actually had fun. I know I had fun. You should see the video!

Growing Up

We have been following Ella around everywhere trying to get video of her walking. As soon as she takes a few steps, if you make any sudden movement like your interested, its over. If you get the video camera, its over. Well, you'll have to take my word for it. She is taking steps. We may never capture it, but it is happening. Also, this means there have been very few still pictures taken recently. These are really cute, but assure you I got her down from the back of her car immediately. I was saying "No Ella, No," as I was taking pictures. The last picture she looks so grown up.

Feelin' goovy

Finally, Nobody's sick, injured, or tired. Ella's gums are giving her only a short break I'm sure. Tonight, she flitted around everywhere, happily chirping to herself, "reading" books, and inspecting everthing. She even relaxed on the mommylounger and caught a baby einstein flick. All is well.....for now.

Grilling with the I.T. Boys

Jason's supervisor, Kevin, had the whole I.T. department over to his house Saturday to grill steaks and mingle a little outside of the office. I think everyone has a great time, especially the kids. A big thank you to Kevin and Barbara for opening their house to us and serving a delicious meal! It was great to get to know all the boys wives spend some time with everyone outside of just needing them to fix things for me. If you'll notice though, Ella captured most of the attention. She was the baby there, and was spoiled rotten. I got some great shots of her playing with a little basket ball (well coordinated in matching accessories of course!) She always steals mommy's attention. The poor guys didn't even make it into the pictures!

Easter's Coming Early!

I really don't know what the rule is on how soon before or how long after Easter you can wear you Easter themed clothing. Personally, I have never dealt with this situation. But Ella has several Easter outfits and I want her to get plenty of wear out of them. This one her Meemaw got last year at Cracker Barrel, probably before she was born, I can't remember. I love the chicken feet!

Ladies only

Ella's "Sunday School Class" is ladies only. Daddy likes it that way. They were all so sweet this morning. As soon as she got home and in some comfy clothes, she starting climbing in her car seat as usual. We could have saved so much money on toys.

Ella is really having a hard time with her teeth. I think its just because so many are coming in at once. Right now she really does not like being seperated from her binky. She found out today that she has a whole basket of babies that she had never played with! She crawled into the corner between her crib and dresser and squealed from behind her paci while she played. Later, we went to Poppy and Cici's house so that Ella could play with her cousins that were visiting. She had a lot of fun with Cici's toys. She and Cooper loved a book Cici had that had a puppet of a bear inside. She started holding her paci in her mouth sideways, I guess it felt better. She was exhausted and pretty ill by the end of the day, even though she took a two and a half hour nap! There were no smiles by the time the grown ups wanted to take pictures.

Angel!

I went in to wake her this morning and she looked so sweet - She is an angel!

Mommy has teeth!!

Ella has turned a corner!!! Now she doesn't just take things apart, she at least tries to put them back together agian, or put them back where they go! It took her 30 seconds to take the feet off of the wii fit, but then she spent the next 10 minutes trying to get them back on. Also, her teeth have really been bothering her lately, she has 4 coming in on top at the same time. I had been feeling her gums to see if any more had broke the skin and she decided that she would check mine too. She is also taking great "strides" in standing alone, and walking with very little assistance. We think she may be taking those 1st steps any day now. Sidenote: That shiner she has under her left eye is thanks to a push car she fell on at Meemaw's house. I don't think it's EVER going to go away!

Spring Cleaning

Ella was so sweet to help Mommy with the spring cleaning, as soon as she had cleaned out the bathroom cabinets, she stood up, closed the cabinet doors, and crawled away.

Dolls

Im not very girly and I have noticed that if Ella has the option between a doll and a firetruck, she's going to choose the firetruck! I think its been the colors mostly. Well, she is about to be 11 months and I have noticed that she has started favoring textures over colors. She carries around a little pink bunny rabbit most of the time, but today she played with dolls. She rocked them in the bed and put her face agianst their faces. She has never cared before. She has actually exhibited some signs here lately that point to her being much more girly than I was.

First trip to the Zoo!

Today was the first really pretty weekend day that everyone was healthy in a month. So we were dying to get outside! We decided to take Ella to the zoo. As you can see, she didn't smile much during her visit. I think she was a little overwhelmed with all these new things to see. She stared at everything and watched them move. She was just taking it all in! We had a really good time. But once agian, no elephants, no rhino's. Birmingham zoo is really bad. Half of the animals you show up to see are off exibit or the tiny 3x5 opening they have provided for veiwing is nowhere near the animal! We were a little bummed but it was a beautiful day.

Haley's "Hand-me Downs"

We put this little dress on Ella this morning, It was an outfit that belonged to her cousin,Haley. I thought she looked really cute in it. Also, after Ella went to bed last night, I painted this old frame for her room and added some rhinestones for a little bling! I thought it turned out cute.

Rosy Glow!

Tonight was bathnight and Ella was really cute, but it was easy to tell that she had Carrots and Sweet Potatoes for lunch. Look at that nose!

Dinner with friends!

It was great to have a night out with friends. The last time we made the time to get together, Ella was not quiet 5 months old! It was long overdue! We had a great time!

Speed Walking

MeeMaw gave Ella this walker for Christmas. Up until now, she could only use it on the carpet because it would fly out from under her. Now she can practically jog behind it in the kitchen. Heaven forbid if something gets in her way, like the poor dog. Ella is not walking on her own yet, but we think it could be any day. She can stand alone as long as she wants.

Monday, February 23, 2009

Tonight we let Ella run around the house naked for a little while. You would think she received the greatest gift in the world! She cackled as she crawled around. She couldn't decide where to go first! Shortly after, she had her bath and then off to Daddy's salon for pampering! The ride to and from the salon is half the fun!

Daycare was Closed, Nonnie's house is open for buisness!

We had just picked Ella up from Nonnie's house. She was in a great mood! She played on the kitchen floor in her new house shoes until bedtime!

Post Valentines Day Blues

This was the day after we visited Nashville for Ella's Cousin Cooper's 3rd Birthday. It was the longest trip she has ever taken and it definately took its toll on her. She was exhausted. At one point I caught her in the living room in the middle of the floor, sprawled out on her belly trying to watch T.V. Poor baby she was pooped! We had a lot of fun in Nashville though, and we hope that Cooper had a great Birthday!

Tannehill State Park

The temperture today was supposed to hit 70! So, after church, we loaded up and went to Tannehill to ride in the wagon, do a little hiking and play on the playground! A good time was had by all! However, we did miss a nap, and napping in the backpack just isn't the same as a nap at home. So we were a little grumpy by the time we got home. Later that night we met up with my family to celebrate my 30th birthday! I can't believe I'm not in my twenties anymore!
