Ella's umbilical cord finally fell off so she had her first tub bath today. She really liked it. I love to see her little legs floating.

Our poor baby has jaundice!!

Ella is one week old and we found out her billirubin levels had shot up to 16!! So the Dr. sent out a special phototherapy bed for her to lay in. She is only allowed out to eat and be changed. Poor baby...its a good thing she seems to like it.

Ella seems to like bath time!

Ella and Daddy

Ella's first trip to the Dr.

Ella had a billirubin level of 7.8 when we left the hospital. When we visited the Dr. our main concerns were if she was gaining weight and if those levels had gone down.

Ella and Nonnie

Ella was 5 days old and we realized that there were a lot of things that she needed that we didn't have. So Nonnie came over to keep her while we ran out.

Ella and Mckenzie

We were worried that Mckenzie would not handle having a new little person in the house very well, but she quards over her like she is her own pup.

Ella's Birth!!

Jason and I arrived at Brookwood at 5:00pm Tuesday afternoon to begin my induction. At 2:30 in the morning my water broke. When the Dr. came in at 6:30, I was 4 cm dialated. They started the pitocin at 7:00am. I managed the contractions until 9:30 when I asked for an epidural. After that it was smooth sailing!! Our WHOLE FAMILY was with us until 2:00pm, when the nurse said we would begin to push. After everyone left and Jason ate a sandwich, I pushed through 3 contractions and Dr. Barron ran through the door just in time to catch Ella Grace at 2:52. I could not have asked for a better labor experience. Ella is absolutely the most beautiful thing I've ever laid my eyes on!!! I can't believe that she came from us!!

Baby Quilt

I started cross-stitching this baby quilt the first time Jason and I got pregnant in 2006. I was afraid to do much moving around so I had to find something to fill my time. After our third miscarriage we started going to the ART fertility clinic at Brookwood hospital. They were wonderful!! Since then we conceived Ella and I finished the quilt just in time. I found a lady in Trussville that put it together for me and she did a beautiful job!! God's timing is amazing! I've worked so hard on this quilt and on trying to stay pregnant for two years! Now It feels really good to see the finish line in both endeavors.
